These terms apply to the GW Monitoring Android app, published free of charge by Hydro Geo Solutions LLP, Faridabad, Haryana, India (“HGS”). By accepting them in the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
GW Monitoring lets you record groundwater observations (well inventory, water levels, VES points, water quality, photos), create projects and boundaries, and export your own records. It is free. HGS may change, suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at any time.
2. Your account
- Give a real name and an email address you control, and keep your password private.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once if you think it has been misused.
- HGS may suspend or close accounts that misuse the app, upload false, harmful or unlawful content, or try to access data they are not allowed to see.
3. Data sharing with HGS
Everything you record or upload with the app — locations, measurements, notes, photos and project boundaries — is shared with HGS and stored on HGS servers. You grant HGS a free, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, use, analyse, combine, reproduce and publish that field data (in combined, summarised or anonymised form) for groundwater studies, research, databases and reports, including work for HGS clients. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. You keep the right to use your own data; you can export it from the app at any time.
4. Your responsibilities in the field
- Collect data only at places and from wells where you have permission. Respect private property, local rules and your own safety.
- Record a well owner's or any other person's name only with their permission.
- Do not upload content you have no right to share, or anything unlawful or offensive.
5. No warranty
The app, its calculations, maps and any data shown are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. GPS positions, base maps and computed values can be inaccurate. Check important values independently before relying on them for engineering, regulatory, financial or safety decisions.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, HGS is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from decisions made using the app. Keep your own exports or backups of important records.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its design and the name “GW Monitoring” belong to Hydro Geo Solutions LLP. Do not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app except as allowed by law. Map tiles are © OpenStreetMap contributors.
8. Changes to these terms
HGS may update these terms. If an update matters, the app will show the new version and ask you to accept it before you continue.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Faridabad, Haryana have exclusive jurisdiction.
